Fruit: Dry, hard acorn, ½ – 1” long; mature in Fall
Foliage: Alternate, simple, deeply lobed; green leaves turn brown to red to burgundy in Fall Large parking lots, lawn tree and shade tree, Good for urban areas as a street tree or in large medians; allow plenty of space for growth; can live for several hundred years; acorns may cause problems in pedestrian areas
