Bark: Young stems are green; quickly turns reddish brown;
covered with thin flakes; matures to dark reddish brown with
scales or plates.
Flower: Inconspicuous; blooms late winter to early spring
Fruit: Greenish brown cones; 3/8” long, eight scales
Foliage: Scale-like, tight appressed; dark green to bluish green leaves
Uses: Nice specimen, large hedges and privacy screens due to rapid growth rate.
