Light Requirements:

Soil Requirements: Well-drained, acidic, clay, loam, or sandy soil; will tolerate infrequently we sites
Bark: Brown to gray, brown; furrowed, forming large, irregular
Flower: Greenish to purple male cones; green female cone
matures to brown and remains on tree for three to four years;
forms in late Winter Spring
Fruit: Brown, large, spin; cones form in pairs; persistent
and showy
Foliage: Spiraled arrangement; three long, needle-like leaves per facile; fragrant green foliage; older inner needles turn yellow brown and shed in Fall and again in Spring at time of new growth
Uses: Reclamation planting, screen planting, shade tree, specimen, parks, and commercial landscapes
