Light Requirements:
 Full sun will tolerate partial shade
Soil Requirements: Well-drained, moist, fertile, humus rich and slightly acidic to slightly alkaline soil.
Bark: Chestnut-brown, covered with thin flakes and fibers when young; matures to grayish brown plates and fissures
Flower: Male cones are yellow to brown; female cones are
greenish yellow; matures to chestnut-brown, inconspicuous;
blooms late winter to spring. 
Fruit: Small, oval, dry, brown, woody cone; ½” long;
Foliage: Alternate, scale-like, vertical sprays, fragrant, dark green foliage; keeps dark green color through the winter
Uses: Large specimen plant or mass planted as a large hedge or screen.
